Titanium diboride (TiB2), sometimes called titanium boride, is an ultra-hard, electrically conductive ceramic sold as powders, dense sintered parts, and coating/target materials for extreme wear and high-temperature duty. Commercial demand is driven by roles where it extends component life under abrasion, molten metal contact, and severe thermal cycling.

Applications:
- Aluminum production & metallurgy — cathodes/current-carrying refractory parts that resist molten aluminum and reduce wear.
- Cutting tools & wear components — inserts, nozzles, and high-wear fixtures where extreme hardness extends service life.
- Seals & sealing faces — hard, heat-stable mechanical seal components for abrasive or high-temperature service.
- Coatings & surface engineering — hard coatings to improve abrasion resistance and reduce component wear.
- Electronics & thin-film production — conductive ceramic targets/parts used in deposition-related hardware for thin films.
- Abrasives & wear media — abrasive powders and reinforcement additives for abrasion-resistant materials.
- Mining & mineral processing — wear-resistant liners/components and non-sparking tools/coatings for high-abrasion environments.
- Catalysts / electrocatalysis — used as a catalyst or catalyst support in certain electrochemical/energy systems.
